Joint Ventures

McDougall Reidy & Co has been involved in a number of joint venture projects where it has been clear that both parties are able to bring strategic value to the project.

For example:

  • The Gate industrial park was sold prior to its completion to Macquarie Goodman on the basis that McDougall Reidy & Co entered into an incentive related development management agreement for the balance of the development. This enabled Macquarie Goodman to buy into a prime industrial development prior to its completion and McDougall Reidy & Co to maintain its involvement;
  • The Hub (Auckland) was initially a joint venture with AMP Henderson Global Investors, who were the owners of the adjacent Botany Town Centre shopping mall, thus ensuring the compatibility of the development with the town centre;
  • Carlaw Park in Auckland is a development commenced through a joint venture with Auckland Rugby League who were the owner of the land. This relationship brought property expertise and funding to the Auckland Rugby League whilst concurrently providing participation for McDougall Reidy & Co in a strategically located development. McDougall Reidy & Co subsequently purchased the land when Resource Consents for the development were obtained.

McDougall Reidy & Co maintains a strong interest in the joint venture approach.
